Guðrún Kristjansdottir has received grants and stipends from the City of Reykjavík (1998), the Icelandic State Fund for Artists (1987, 1991, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2010), from the Nordic Art Centre in Sweaborg, Finland, from Cité International des Arts in Paris, and from the American-Scandinavian Foundation. Gudrun received a grant from the Pollock-Krasner foundation in 2006. She was a member of FÍM, federation of Icelandic artists, and its chairman from 1994 – 1996. In the board of SIM, the Assosiation of Icelandic Artists, 2002 - 2009 and member of the board of Serra Foundation 1998 - 2001.
